Sustainability at Mantra The Point

Here at Mantra The Point we are committed to embedding sustainability into every facet of our daily operations. We recognise that sustainability is an ongoing journey and are continually striving to reduce our carbon footprint wherever possible. Below are some of the initiatives we have implemented to date.

Amenities

We are delighted to share our ongoing commitment to reducing single-use plastics in our guest rooms. As part of this initiative, we have made a significant decision to eliminate single-use dry amenities, taking a bold step towards a plastic-free environment. By removing single-use plastic amenities such as toothbrushes, combs, and shower caps from our guest rooms, we are significantly reducing our environmental footprint. Instead, guests can request dry amenities by calling room service or visiting our friendly team at reception. In addition, we have made the proactive decision to move to large format amenities, replacing our single-use plastic common amenities with refillable pump dispensers throughout the hotel. By eliminating single-use plastic bottles, we are significantly reducing the amount of waste generated by our operations. ;

Waste Management

At Mantra The Point, all hotel waste is separated into co-mingle, cardboard, food waste and general waste, minimising our impact on landfill. In addition, we have taken a number of steps to further reduce water and embrace a circular system.

  • Dedicated waste & recycle bins located inside all rooms
  • Bin liners are bioplastic made from plant-based material and certified in accordance with Australian/NZ home and commercial compostable standards AS5810 and AS4736
  • Dedicated Glass, Waste & Recycle bins located near reception for weekly collection

Community Support

We are committed to maintaining strong connections with our local community and give back wherever possible:

  • Unclaimed lost & found property is donated to Salvation Army
  • Second-hand items such as duvets, blankets, linen, kettles, toasters, furniture are donated to Salvation Army
  • We actively participate in Annual Cure Kids Quiz competition held by Novotel Queenstown which help raising funds for kids suffering from big breakthroughs

Accessibility

Apartment and Studios are either split-level or located on top floor, accessible via stairs. The Property may affect accessibility for some guests. We encourage guests to enquire before making a booking.
